PhD College Golf Scholarships Teaching Studentship in History


The College Golf Scholarships award will be a complete waiver of postgraduate tuition fees for three years’ registration as an MPhil / PhD student. The studentship will also include an opportunity to teach up to four hours in the first year of registration, with the expectation of rising to six hours in the subsequent two years. College Golf Scholarships Applicants will therefore be assessed both for the viability of their research plans and for their suitability to undertake degree-level teaching.

Climate Change and Risk Management College Golf Scholarships


The College Golf Scholarships prices are partly financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and are only for residents of the EU (including Britain) to open. Prices will be awarded on merit, based on the result of Bachelor's degree. University of Lund Postgraduate College Golf Scholarships


College Golf Scholarships LUCID is a Linnaeus programme sponsored by The Swedish Research Council Formas for the period 2008-2018. LUCID is coordinated by the faculty-independent Centre for Sustainability Studies at Lund University (LUCSUS). Linnaeus Grants are awarded to exceptionally strong environments performing research of the highest international quality and aiming at innovative research. LUCID is a consortium comprising the following disciplines: human ecology, human geography, philosophy, physical geography, political science, sociology of law and sustainability science.

College Golf Scholarships LUCID aims at creating completely new and unique synergies across natural and social sciences in order to develop new integrated theories and methods for addressing complex sustainability issues. The research is anchored in natural scientific understanding, social science theories and ethical considerations. Four global challenges are in focus: climate change, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity and land use change. Two scientific approaches, problem solving and critical research, will be combined to understand how society handles and should handle these global challenges. The research will offer theoretical, methodological and practical contributions to the broad and emerging field of sustainability science.

Job assignments

The doctoral College Golf Scholarships candidate programme amounts to 240 credits (which is equivalent to four years of study full time). It formally ends with the doctoral candidate publicly defending his/her printed doctoral thesis. The holder of a postgraduate position has as his/her primary obligation to successfully fulfil his/her third cycle education ending with a PhD degree. Regulations concerning appointment as a full time postgraduate student can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5, 1-7 §§.

The College Golf Scholarshipsholder of a postgraduate position is expected to participate actively in the research and teaching environment of LUCSUS. He/she will normally perform departmental duties, above all teaching, amounting to about 20 per cent of full time.

The College Golf Scholarships position is placed at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies, LUCSUS, but the employee will actively participate in the activities of the Research School at the Lund University Centre of Excellence for Integration of Social and Natural Dimensions of Sustainability, LUCID (also located in Geocentrum I): http://www.lucid.lu.se/html/phd_programme.aspx

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

To be eligible for third cycle studies an applicant must:

  • Have been awarded a second cycle degree
  • Have completed studies the equivalent of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 credits are at the second cycle level, or
  • Have acquired basically the same qualifications in some other way in Sweden or abroad.

Students that met the requirements for basic eligibility for third cycle studies before 1 July 2007, shall also be considered eligible for third cycle studies after the new regulations came into force, but only until the end of June 2015 in accordance with the following paragraph: The requirements for basic eligibility for third cycle studies are met by those who have completed first cycle education corresponding to at a minimum 180 higher education credits or acquired basically the same qualifications in some other way in Sweden or abroad. We are looking for excellent candidates with a background relevant to LUCID such as: sustainability science/studies development studies; environmental studies; global studies; or other interdisciplinary background relevant to LUCID.

Basis of Assessment

In accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5, paragraph 5, particular emphasis for admission shall be placed upon the applicant`s perceived ability to successfully complete their studies, as indicated by academic qualifications and merits. The statement of area of research interests as well as previously written theses and publications are important indicators of the ability. Proficiency in spoken and written English is also of great importance.

College Scholarships The Karel Vinck Award – MBA

Supporting the education of civil engineering graduates has always been a personal preoccupation of Karel Vinck, a civil engineer from a Belgian university, who obtained an MBA in the United States. To be eligible, the candidates should have a Belgian master degree in civil engineering and show evidence of their admission at a renowned business school in the U.S..

In addition to the “Karel Vinck Award” the recipient will receive from the Belgian American Educational Foundation a conditional grant of up to $100,000 as an interest-free loan, which must be repaid within five years after graduation. The conditional grant covers tuition and compulsory fees including health insurance for two academic years of study in residence at a U.S. business school.
1. Must be a Belgian citizen;
2. have a civil engineering master’s degree from a Belgian University with outstanding academic record
3. have a good command of the English language;
4. have some evidence of meaningful work experience;
5. submit evidence of acceptance or of being waitlisted by one of the following U.S. Business schools
